Okavango Delta Fly-in

Start your African safari with a short charter flight into the Okavango Delta Your camp has a prime location in the Delta with many channels, tributaries and swamps which create a daily canvas for exploration and discovery. Water-focused game viewing from a mokoro (dugout canoe) and boat cruises will give you up-close game sightings and manoeuvrability. Guides will ensure they focus on any special interests that you may have, whether it be to find endemic bird species, photograph reed frogs and fish eagles or track one of the big cats on foot.

The lodge is designed in such a way to create a natural flow between the main lodge and the private tent. You will find it hard to leave the confines of your luxury tent which boasts its indoor and outdoor shower and large private deck with incredible views.

Depending on your arrival time on day one, you will be welcomed to lunch or tea. After checking in and a chance to freshen up, you will head out on your first game activity. Sundowners will be served in the bush, most often than not, to a glowing sunset display of orange and red-tinted skies. A traditional dinner will be served under the twinkling stars around the campfire as you reminisce on the day’s events.

Over the next two days, you will have plenty of time to explore the Okavango Delta on daily game activities. Depending on which camp you stay at, will depend on which activities are on offer. Here’s a quick rundown of each camp and the focus activities available at each. If time allows, we can also combine two or three camps together so you get a full experience in different locations.

Game moves freely in each area, providing no limits on game movements and sightings. The Okavango Delta supports a large concentration of game on a seasonal and permanent basis. A staggering array of species are found within the delta including African elephant, African buffalo, hippopotamus, lechwe, giraffe, topi, wildebeest, crocodile, lion, cheetah, leopard, brown hyena, spotted hyena, kudu, sable antelope, black rhinoceros, white rhinoceros, Plains zebra, warthog and chacma baboon. The African wild dog is also frequently spotted by guests and has one of the richest pack densities in the Delta.

Your camp guide will ensure that you get to see as much wildlife as possible and will make every effort to cater to your preferences.

After a delicious breakfast serenaded by the nearby wildlife and your morning game activity (time allowing), you will take your charter flight back to Maun International Airport in time for your onward arrangements or flight.
